Description

The papers in this file are by no means just about the Friends burial ground at the Retreat. The file seems to have belonged to A. Fred Burgess, Retreat Secretary, who was a member of the Burial Ground Committee and also Registering Officer for the Society of Friends for the York District, and there is correspondence in the file about Friends’ marriages in York and about lists of membership of the York Meeting, returns of births, marriages and deaths to the York Monthly Meeting, and other related matters.
