Description

Correspondence relating to the implementation of staff retirement procedures under the National Health Service, requests from staff for an extension to their service after they reach retirement age, annual reviews of staff nearing or past retirement age and issues concerning retiring staff having to leave their tied lodgings after periods of long service. Also included are extracts regarding the policy of retaining staff beyond pensionable age. Letters included are to and from staff members, the House Steward and Secretary, Matron, Physician Superintendent, the Western Regional Hospital Board and the Confederation of Health Service Employees.
