Project Summary:Rambert Dance Company will create a dance work to celebrate Darwin200, to tour the UK from Sept 2009-June 2010, and on occasion thereafter. Inspired by Darwin's science, this new work is the focus of a project which will (i) generate public engagement with evolution and (ii) develop a cross-curricular education programme focusing on the dance work and the science concepts that inform it. To maximize public engagement and educational impact, RDC will collaborate with the Teacher Scientist Network to develop educational workshops and 'wrap-around' audience activities, foyer events and web-based media resources. This is a joint application with the Biotechnology and Biological Science Research Council (BBSRC).
