Description
"Our Fathers that begat us, and other papers on the history of Medicine." With a Foreword by Professor Sir Francis Fraser [1885-1964]. Typescript signed with holograph additions and corrections. Inserted loose are 8 photographs intended for illustrations for the printed book. Included is a typescript letter signed by the author dated 11 July 1946 referring to an illustration of a surgeon's instrument-case belonging to Lord Lee of Fareham [1868-1947], with an initialled note of permission to use it by the owner in red crayon. Produced in Littlehampton.

Biographical note
The author graduated M.B., B.Ch. from Oriel College, Oxford in 1912, and after practising in Oxford was commissioned in the R.A.M.C. in 1917. On the recommendation of Fieldmarshal Lord Allenby he joined the Indian Medical Service in 1920, and later became professor of surgery at Rangoon University. He retired in 1942 with the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel.
