Description

Contains information on a number of Dutch based groups who advocate the medicinal use of canabis. This mainly refers to the Stichtung Institute of Medical Marijuana. This is a Rotterdam-based institution that obtained legal status in the Netherlands in 1993 as an authorized source for providing medical marijuana for research purposes. They also provide legal medical marijuana for doctors who prescrive marijuana and patients who use use medical marijauna. The file contains leaflets and brochures about the work of the Inistute in both Dutch and English. It also contains correspondence between both Elizabeth Brice and Professor Patrick Wall with the Director, James Burton. There is also material relating to the Preventitive Medical Center, also based in Rotterdam, a group that fully supports the rights of patients to freely choose their form of medical treatment and endorses the medical use of marijuana, including a Press Release dated November 1993 and Dutch material (with a translation) on a Gemeentelijke gezondheidsdienst voor Rotterdam en omstrerken, dated 6 September 1993.
