A LAW enacted by His Excellency the High Commissioner and Commander-in-Chief of the Island of Cyprus, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof. “TO AMEND THE LAW WITH REGARD TO THE PRACTICE OF MEDICINE AND SURGERY.” Be it enacted by His Exoellency the High Commissioner and Commander-in-Chief 0f the Island of Cyprus, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows :— 1. It shall be lawful for the High Commissioner to appoint a Board [hereinafter called tbe Medical Board] for tlio examination of persons desirous of being registered as Medical Practitioners of tbe Second Class, aud for the examination of persons desirous of being registered as lioensed practitioners in any special branch of medical or surgical science. Such Board shall consist of such jargons, not lees than three in number, as the High Cornuuc-sioner shall, from time to time, appoint and shall hold examinations at such times and places as the High Commissioner shall direct. The High Commissioner may, from time to time, vary the number of the members of the Medical Board and remove any member thereof and appoint any other person in his place. 2. Every examination held by the Medical Board for Medical Practitioners of tbe Second Class shall be an examination in medicine, surgery and midwifery, and shall be snch as sufficiently to test the possession of the knowledge and Bkill requisite for the efficient practice of medicine, surgery and midwifery in ordinary cases but not for the performance of important 6urgioal operations. 3. It shall be lawful for the Chief Medical Officer to license as a Medical Practitioner of the Second Class any person who. being of good character, shall have passed such examination as in the last preceding clause mentioned to the satisfaction of the Medical Board. 4. Every person licensed under this law as a Medical Practitioner of the Second Class shall he entitled to practise medicine and surgery within such area or place in Cyprus as the High Com- missioner shall prescribe and shall receive a license in the form A in the schedule hereto. 5. Every examination held by the Medical Board for persons desirous of becoming licensed practitioners in any speoial branch Medioal Board. Examination for Medical Prac- titioners of Second Clan.
