About this work

Description

Various memoranda addressing aspects of the newly-emerging and highly-competitive aerosol market, beginning with a memorandum (22 October, 1954) from W E O Walker-Leigh concerning insufficient capacity at Berkhamsted to meet an expected rise in demand for pressure-packed commodities (insecticide, shaving cream, paint, cosmetics, hair lacquer), and the prospect of erecting new buildings and plant. "The provision of new buildings brings to the forefront the necessity of long term planning for the Berkhamsted Factory" (p. 4).

The final document in the file is a Memorandum ("Aerosol Price Review") from A D Robertson, Divisional Sales Director (28 December, 1960). The document reviews the impact on the CM&R budget of price-cutting by competitors.
