RATTONUM,12 vicUS de RATOWNRAW.13 The legend tells us14 that St. Kentigern, on his journey from beyond Forth, lodged at Kernach, on the high land between Stirling and Fintry, in the house of an old man, Fregus or Fergus, who was at the point of death, and yielded up the ghost during the night.
