I, Richard Bradshaw, of Bridge Road, Edge Hill, Liverpool, iu the County of Lancaster, Mechanical Engineer, do hereby declare the nature of this invention to be as follows :— This invention is designed to provide an inhaling tube or mouthpiece in which 5 eucalyptus oil or other medicament may be placed and over which air may be drawn for the purpose of inhalation. It consists essentially in constructing the tube or mouthpiece with a chamber or cell placed at one side of it and opening into the tube and at the opposite side is formed an air hole the mouth of the tube being filled with cotton fibre cammomile 10 flower or other absorbent material saturated with eucalyptus oil or other suitable substance. In carrying out the invention I construct the tube or mouthpiece of glass clay wood or other suitable material. On the underside I form a cell or chamber preferably in the form of a bulb and on the upper side above this cell I form 15 a perforation or aperture to admit air. The mouth of the tube I fill with cotton fibre cammomile flower or other absorbent material and I saturate this material and fill the cell with eucalyptus oil or other substance the vapour or fumes of which are to be inhaled. In addition to this a medicated or other cigarette may be placed in the tube. 20 The air passing into the tube through the perforation formed in it impinges upon the oil or other substance in the cell and agitates or churns it up so that the air gets impregnated therewith before being inhaled. This has been found a very effective means both for preventing the spread of and for curing influenza. Dated this 10th day of April 1895. 25 WM. P.
