Alan Mason: material for a history of the CSP

Included along with the correspondence between Mr Mason and the CSP are: a card of thanks presented to the Founders from Society members, 1914; "The King George Hospital: A General View " pamphlet, 1917; correspondence, 1950 - 1988; journal reprints, 1934, 1980; notes on the development of the Society, its brances, and medicine generally in the early 20th century.

In correspondence dated 16 Dec 1988, the CSP encouraged Alan Mason, a member of the CSP employed at the Department of Health Studies at the Sheffield Polytechnic, in his intention to write a history of the Society, although they expressed reservation at making any formal or monetary commitment. There is currently no further indication of this project's progression.
