Description

This cuttings book contains the typescript programme of events, with photographs and press cuttings and other material about the celebration gathering at the Retreat, Saturday 11 May 1946, including the autographs of those attending. Also included in the cuttings book are papers about the special service broadcast from the Friends Meeting House, Clifford Street, York on 12 May 1946, the service at the Retreat for patients and staff and the special meeting at the Friends Meeting House Leeds, 12 May 1946, as well as the public meeting at Friends House London on 21 May 1946 and other gatherings held elsewhere as a complimentary gesture towards the Retreat’s 150th birthday. Cuttings are from April to July 1946.
