About this work

Description

This volume was begun after the arrival of Dr Arthur Pool as the new Medical Superintendent. The minutes of the first meeting in the volume record that: “Dr Pool stated it was hoped to hold these Conferences regularly each month at noon, and the object was that we might discuss problems and suggestions affecting the working and well-being of the Retreat. It was also hoped that any matters of interest, or matters which perhaps affected one section, would be mentioned so that all officials might have knowledge of what is taking place in the hospital.” Those attending the Conference were the Medical Superintendent, Medical Officers, Matron, Housekeeper, Steward and Secretary.
