About this work

Description

The North Western Association of Medical Officers of Health was founded in Feb 1875. It grew out of a conference consisting of Salford Sanitary Association and certain Medical Officers of Health from districts in Lancashire, Cheshire, Derbyshire and the West Riding, Yorkshire, held at Manchester Town Hall. It's proceedings were published from the first year onwards. It amalgamated with the (Metropolitan) Society and other provincial associations in 1888 and was reconstituted a Branch.

Most of the records of this Branch are held on deposit at The John Rylands University Library, University of Manchester.
