Military scrapbook kept by Porter, 1850-1881. Contains items relating to Porter's career as a surgeon: personal and professional correspondence received by him, as well as copies of letters sent by him; telegrams; reports; newspaper cuttings; extracts and copies of extracts from medical journals; regiment lists of 97th Regiment; certificates etc; reviews of the first edition of The Surgeon's Pocket Book; reports and reprints by Porter on various aspects of surgery. Includes obituaries of Porter, 1880 and a cutting on war graves from 1965.
