Description
12 artworks identified by Rita Simon's pseudonym "Mr Pauli". The artworks form an important series discussed in Rita Simon's book Symbolic Images in Art As Therapy, chapter 2, "Mr Pauli , madly serious play". Simon also lectured extensively on this patient as the series shows the patient's ability to recover without intervention. The artworks consist of portraits and self-portraits and the first two artworks were created on newspaper.

A middle aged male psychiatric patient who, after discharge from hospital, attended one of Rita Simon's art therapy groups that she ran in her home.
