    Tlie British and African Steam Navigation Co., 48 Castle Street, Liverpool, 23d July, 1874. We hereby certify that Mr John S. Wilson served on board this Company’s Steamer “ Roquelle,” as Surgeon, for two voyages to Africa, extending from 18th December, 1873, to 6th June, 1874, and during that period he discharged his duties to our entire satisfaction. ELDEB, DEMPSTER & CO. Perth District Asylum, Murthly, 15th April, 1872. I hereby certify that Mr John S. Wilson filled the office of Assistant Physician in this Asylum, from January 1871, to April 1872. He came as temporary substitute for Dr Cruickshank, and the satisfactory mode in which he conducted his duties led to his being continued in the post. I found him throughout a most courteous and useful assistant, punctual and careful in the discharge of his pro¬ fessional duties, kind and attentive to the patients, and exerting himself on all occasions to promote their recreations and amusements. His Case-books and Registers were kept with much neat¬ ness and regularity, and he performed about ten autopsies, some of them without aid. The experience he has had here will materially conduce to his discharging the duties of any similar post with much acceptability. w. c. McIntosh, Medical Superintendant.
