About this work

Description

Typed copies of Grant's diary and Moir's letters, friends from Inverness, while they were nursing orderlies with Dr Elsie Inglis's Scottish Women's Hospital Serbian-Russian Unit in Romania and Russia, 1916-1917.
There are mentions of Elsie Bowerman and Yvonne Fitzroy and other figures now well known to students of the SWH. The playwright Abigail Docherty wrote her play about the SWH play 'Sea, Land and Sky', staged at the Tron Theatre in Glasgow in 2010, after reading the copies of these volumes in Edinburgh. Audrey Cahill published excerpts in : Between the Lines: letters and diaries from Elsie Inglis's Russian Unit , arranged and edited by Audrey Fawcett Cahill (Pentland Press, 1999).
