About this work

Description

In universam medicinae Facultatem. De partibus humani corporis [etc.]. Notes of lectures, taken down by Carolus Ursinus: in Latin, but with some entries in Italian by the scribe. Contents: Verses in Italian and Latin by Ursinus (pp. 1-6). In universam medicinae Facultatem (pp. 7-16). De partibus humani corporis (pp. 16-138). Verses in Italian and Latin by Ursinus (pp. 189-141). De generatione (pp. 143-205). De humoribus (pp. 205-254). De temperamentis (pp. 255-286). De scabie, lepra Graecorum et Arabum, de phthisi contagiosa (pp. 287-300). Verses in Latin and Italian by Ursinus (2 ll.). On p. 1, Ursinus writes: 'A di 23 8bre 1733 ho dato principio allo studio di Medicina'. The anatomy section is dated 1734 at the end of the text. Below this is an inscription struck through almost certainly relating to the lecturer, and under this 'del Borrello'. At the end of the last section: '2 Maggio 1737. Napoli.' On the verso of the last leaf is a rough symbolic pen-drawing lettered 'Finamore anno MDCCXLIX' and 'Ex libris familiae Finamore.' Though the entries somewhat resemble those of MS. 1650 (Cirillus, N., 'Institutionum medicarum, Pars I, II,') the text is different. Produced in Naples.
