4 autograph letters, signed; accompanied by printed obituary cutting (no.48) and typed transcription (no.49). No.49, to Dr. Annesley of the Madras General Hospital, is written from the Pneumatic Institute in London and describes the state of "pneumatic medicine"; no.50 thanks the anonymous recipient for letting him see the writer Sir Walter Scott (1771-1832).
