9-57 During the campaigns against Prussia and Russia, 1806-1807.

58-77 During the campaign against Austria, 1809.

78-81 From France, 1810-1834.

82-83 From Moscow, 1812.

Items 9-79 were purchased at Stevens' 2 Sept. 1930, lot 390. Items 82-83 were purchased from Maggs Bros Ltd, in June 2004 and September 2006 respectively.

All the items were formerly in the Bibliotheca Lindesiana, documents of the Napoleonic era having been a particular interest of Ludovic Lindsay (1847-1913), 26th Earl of Crawford, until sold at Sotheby's 30 Nov.-3 Dec. 1925, especially lots 1102 and 1249.
