About this work

Description

The ISTM established an Executive Committee on 26 Sep 1906, which had the same members and similar business to the Council. The last recorded meeting was held on 14 Nov 1913. Its minutes are bound with the Council minutes (B.1/1/6-9).

The CSMMG appointed an Executive Committee at its first Council meeting on 16 Jul 1920, composed of the Chairman of Council and the chairman of each standing committee. It was to meet fortnightly to deal with urgent matters arising between regular meetings of Council, and to report back. With the exception of two meetings in 1930, the minutes of the Executive Committee from 1920 to 1943 do not appear to have survived, although its reports are to be found in the minutes of Council.

The minutes 1943-1964, bound with meetings papers, agenda and correspondence, are for irregular meetings.

In Sep 1983 the Executive Committee was merged with the Finance and General Purposes Committee to form the Planning and Resources Committee, which held its first meeting on 18 Nov 1983. This was succeeded by the Policy and Resources Committee in Oct 1985.

See Council minutes for reports of Executive Committee, and minutes of Executive Committee 26 Sep 1906-14 Nov 1913.
