In accordance with the rules of the Commissioners of the Board of Control of 1930. Separate registers of certified, voluntary, and temporary patients were kept under these rules, each with its own numerical series of admissions. The admission number series in use at the end of 1930 was continued in parallel, as 'general reference numbers'. A new series of these 'general reference numbers' was begun in 1960. Records patients in the asylum in 1931 (with details of their admission 1864-1930) and admissions 1931-1948.
