The upper part of the first page has been cut out, some leaves have also been cut out after the main text, and there are are some blank leaves. These are entries in shorthand with partial transcriptions. After the main text there are odd entries, dated between 27 September, 1827 and 17 June, 1844. This volume covers the remainder of his Russian travels and return to England via Vienna and Paris.
