Description

The Registry of Admissions Book was introduced under 8 & 9 Vict. Cap 100. It had a pre-printed format, for the following information: date of admission, name, sex and class, age, marital condition, condition of life and previous occupation, previous place of abode, charges, by whom sent, dates of medical certificates and by whom signed, bodily condition, bodily disorder if any, mental disorder, supposed cause of insanity, whether epileptic or congenital idiot, duration of existing attack, number of previous attacks, age on first attack, discharged relieved, recovered or not improved or died, observations The Register of Patients, under the Rules made by the Commissioners in Lunacy 29 March 1890 had a slightly different format but with more or less the same information
