Typescript annotated accounts of the lives of Wilkins’ ancestors, including William Mortimer Wilkins (Wilkins’ great-grandfather), William Wilkins (Wilkins’ grandfather), Eliza Wilkins (Wilkins’ great-aunt), Mary Hutton Wilkins (Wilkins’ grandmother) and Edgar Henry Wilkins (Wilkins’ father). Aspects of these accounts were used in chapter 1, ‘Distant Shores’, in Wilkins’ autobiography, The third man of the double helix (Oxford University Press, 2003).
