Description
Typescript journal account of Burkitt's tour of the USA and Canada giving and attending lectures and meetings and visiting hospitals. He was accompanied by Olive on this trip. The account includes setting off from Liverpool on a Cunard cruise ship and the crossing to New York and the bus journey to Washington. Burkitt visits a number of cities including Rochester, and Niagara Falls, Toronto, Chicago, San Francisco. During his visit the President of the USA, John F. Kennedy is assassinated and Burkitt records his experiences after the event and watching the funeral on television.
