About this work

Description

Bound report, dated 22 March, 1921.

Introduction (p. 2): "As you are aware, our Annual Accounts hitherto, whilst shewing our profits or losses, have never provided complete sectional Profit and Loss Accounts for the various countries. During very prosperous times the need for such Accounts was not pressing, but faced with a very serious slump in business the world over, resulting in a falling market ... the necessity for a close analysis has, I venture to say, become absolutely imperative ... I have therefore prepared these notes so that you may the better and more quickly understand the true significance of the accompanying statements, grasp the weaknesses exposed, and avoid the raising of queries which must obviously occur to you as a result of a perusal of same."

Includes "Statement Shewing Percentage of Selling Branch Gross Profit, Expenses, Net Profit to Sales" (table, a column per country).
