Biographical note

The Countdown Steering Committee of the Family Planning International Campaign (later known as the Population Concern Campaign Committee) proposed the setting up of a separate fund-raising committee for the London area. The Population Countdown London Fundraising Committee would then take on specific projects or responsibilities and arranged it's first meeting on 22 May 1973.
