Description

Certificate of examination and approval in the theory and practice of medicine of the bachiller Nicolás Altamirano. Produced in Mexico. An original copy dated 12 August 1690 on papel sellado for 1690-91. Signed, with rúbrica, by Joseph Dias Brisuela, Catedrático propietario de prima de medicina from 1687 to his death in 1692. The certificate describes the candidate's personal appearance, vouches for his limpieza de sangre, describes his examination and his oath, and awards him licence to practise.
