About this work

Description

A woodblock printed Japanese edition of Quanti xinlun, a treatise on physiology by Benjamin Hobson (1816-73) translated into Chinese by Chen Xiutan. This copy was published in Japan in 1857 in the original Chinese translation with minimal kunten, but was originally published in Canton in 1851, and in the 1870s two separate Japanese translations were subsequently published.
