About this work

Description

Collection of alchemical works and extracts: in French, with two sections in Latin. The second work 'Sapientia Veterum' is illustrated with 40 symbolic alchemical water-colour drawings, and one pen-drawing uncoloured. Though the first of these works is placed under the heading 'Geber', it seems to be a general treatise on the preparation of the philosopher's stone, and quotes many authorities including numerous alchemists of later date.
