Photograph of a framed oil painting by Egbert van Heemskerck depicting the interior of a surgery with a woman having blood let from her arm, a surgeon treating a man's injured foot, and other figures. A caption attached to the frame titles the work 'A Barber-Surgeon' and attributes the work to R. Brakenburg, likely for display in the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum. The painting was accessioned by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum on 9th August 1939 (P1331/1939). Related images: V0017551
