Completed forms submitted to the General Board of Control for Scotland showing statistics relating to patient admissions, removals, deaths, and numbers of certified and voluntary patients. Lists of names of patients transferred between Sections 3, 4 and 5, and statistics relating to staff engagements, resignations, dismissals and deaths are included for 1949-1955.

Biographical note
Every institution providing accommodation for the mentally ill was required to complete statistical returns for the General Board of Control for Scotland.
Sections 3, 4, and 5 refer to Sections of the National Health Service, with Section 3 being patients receiving free treatment and Sections 4 and 5 being fee paying patients at various rates.
