About this work

Description

Concerning the possibility of securing Agricultural Research Council (of which funding to create a new research laboratory at the John Innes Institution and to appoint Pontecorvo as the Honorary Director. There is also talk of Pontecorvo succeeding J B S Haldane's Chair at University College London but plans for that fell through due to lack of support from management. Discussions then move on to the possibility of creating a Professorship for Pontecorvo at University of London King's College

In the end none of these three job opportunities came to fruition.
