Description
Matters discussed at meetings included the administration of the company and the board, statutory matters, the financial position of the company and distribution of profits, relations with other companies (often in the Coopers family), and particular products and manufacturing arrangements. These often included discussions on the company's Yalding (Kent) premises. Some matters connected with staff appointments are noted in the minutes.
The index at the front of the previous volume (WF/C/S/18/02) applies to this volume, and it is likely that they originally formed one volume between them.
Legal action to protect a patent in Germany is noted on p. 152. The acquisition of the share capital of Tomlinson & Hayward Ltd is noted on p. 169. The closure of the company's sales office in Jersey is noted on p. 178. The payment of a gift to mark the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II is noted on p. 179. A payment to an employee in respect of his early retirement, and for the maintenance of his son, is noted on p. 197 The institution of a profit-sharing scheme, along the lines of that of ICI, is noted on p. 218.
