Description

Six photographs on two negatives. One negative comprises front and side views of a skull from the New Hebrides (Vanuatu). An inscription on the skull reads: "Malekula, New Hebrides, Hardy Coll., Wilkins Esq. 1900". The second negative comprises front and side views of a decorated human head from the Solomon Islands. An inscription on the head reads "Rubiana, Solomon Islands, Hardy Coll., Wilkins Esq. 1900." At the time the negatives were made, the items were held by the Pitt Rivers Museum, Oxford
