Biographical note
In the summer of 1952 Eric Claxton undertook a tour of the north-east regions to see study circle and branch work in action. A weekend instructor course was held in Newcastle and then they made a film with a member of the Newcastle Amateur Cinematograph Society. Claxton undertook another the tour in 1953, this time in west and south-west England, and visited south and south-east England in 1954.
