Diary, continuation of MS.8039/1, 44ff, 3 Jun 1917- 6 Oct 1918 (hardly any entries after 14 May 1918). Includes two photographs pasted inside front cover: Crompton in civilian clothes with two small girls, presumably his daughters, onto which a small photograph of an adult woman, perhaps his late wife, has been pasted, and photograph of 3 small girls.

Biographical note

On 5 Sep 1917 (f 15) Crompton was in a gas attack and suffered adverse effects. He was shipped back to the UK where he spent the rest of the War.
