Communicated to Dr Duncan fenior. ON the 13th of March laft, I was requeft- ed to vilit a male child, at the houfe of the Reverend Mr Grant, one of our clergy- men. The child was four days old, and had been brought from the parilh of Bolletkine, up- wards of twenty miles diftant. It was fuppofed, that neither the urinary nor alvine palfages were open. On examining the urethra with a fmall bougie, I palled it with eafe into the bladder ; but, on looking for the anus, there was not the fmalleft appearance where it Ihould have been. It
