Description

'The Holocaust Sculptures' by Ismond Rosen. Produced and directed by Justin Scroggie, Front Line Television Services. Master dated 23 Feb 1993. Split audio edited master.

Content: The video shows the 'Holocaust Triptych' on display in St Paul's Cathedral crypt in 1993, with close ups of each of the three sculptures and various parts of the sculptures. The voice-over is by Ismond Rosen who explains how the triptych came into existence from an original sketch of 'The Revelation' in the early 1950s, what each sculpture is called and means ('Revelation', 'Acrostity' and 'Echo the Survivor'), the meaning and symbolism of the triptych, the signifance he feels it has with regard to the life of Christ, the Jewish faith and the Holocaust, and what lessons it teaches. Rosen is shown early in the film sitting opposite the sculptures in the crypt.
