About this work

Description

The diary is written in manuscript and is believed to have been written by Dr. Leslie McLetchie who worked with Dr. Antony Duggan. Dr. Antony Duggan succeeded Dr. McLetchie as Senior Medical Officer.

Each day of the diary is split into "Professional" and "Private" sections, although there is some overlap between the two. McLetchie was travelling around Nigeria during this time, and so the diary provides an insight into the life of a Medical Officer on the move, and the reception he received in different places.
