Various items of business correspondence, including copy letters by Burroughs, manuscript letters in draft (often verso the copy letters), some notes, orders, and some letters received.

Includes:

5 August, 1893. Reply by Burroughs, verso a letter from F A Hahn requesting photographic tabloids. Burroughs notes that "Mr Hahn was one of the first to suggest Photographic Tabloids...."

9 August, 1893. Postcard from Burroughs to Kirby and Collett Smith, written aboard S S Britannia, specifying the distribution of political pamphlets.

10 August, 1893 (postmark). Postcard from Burroughs to Collett Smith, "Re Peace pamphlet / The Heading should read / International Peace Congress / Chicago 1893." Two textual corrections follow.

19 August, 1893. Copy letter (top portion only) from Collett Smith to Burroughs concerning Dartford Creek compensation. Burroughs suggests (verso) arbitration.

23 August, 1893. Copy letter (one-sheet fragment) from Collett Smith to Burroughs, quoting comments from Messrs Doulton & Co (Architectural Dept) on "the work for the upper part of your new premises at Dartford Mills. If you really feel that you cannot go to the expense of the scheme we submitted...."

8 September, 1893. Copy letter (top portion only) from Sudlow to Burroughs on estimates "for the Electric Lighting of our Offices here." Burroughs replies (verso), from Chicago: "I wish to leave the electric fitting matter entirely in your hands having no doubt but you will carry it out in good style & at reasonable cost."

20 September, 1893. Copy letter from Burroughs Wellcome & Co to Burroughs, on the use of the term "Tablet" by Prosser Taylor & Co. See verso for Burrough's draft reply.
