Description

Vol. I. Half-calf note-book. From 11 July, 1821 to 1 October, 1823. The main diary appears to end on p. 126. The remaining pages contain odd entries from 14 March, 1824 to 14 September, 1852. Some passages are written in Taylor's shorthand, and partly deciphered by the Author's son Robert James Lee [1841-1924] who has also added some notes. The volume covers the period of the author's studies in Paris, and travels in Southern France and North Italy.
