Improved Device for Distinguishing Bottles and the like which Contain Poison I Eliza Cutler of 7 Gough Road, Edgbaston, in the County of Warwick, Married, do hereby declare the nature of this invention to be as follows: — This invention relates to a means for quickly distinguishing or indentifying those bottles and the like which contain poison the object being to provide on 5 attachment which can be readily and quickly fixed upon any bottle, jar, glass or the like which contains poisons and which will at once denote to either sight or touch that the contents are of a special nature. This improvement has the further advantage that it forms a protection to the bottle and reduces the liability of breakage while at the same time one size of IQ the attachment which is elastic can be placed on various sized bottles so long as the variation of size is within reasonable limits. In carrying this invention into effect my device consists of a broad band or ring composed of india rubber and having a number of projections or serrations moulded upon its outside face for the purpose of forming a roughened surface 15 to the touch while at the same time such bands are preferably made of red rubber so as to be conspicuous to the eye and are formed of a suitable size to be stretched on around the body or main part of the bottle or like article. Such bands may have the word “ poison ” moulded on the surface or an aperture or perforation may be formed in the band through which the ordinary label on 20 the bottle may be seen. In place of having* a band or ring I may make the device in the form of an elastic strip or band of rubber having studs, buttons, or hooks at one end and button holes, eyes or eyelets at the other end for enabling the same to be fastened round the body of the bottle, such bands or strips having the one side provided 2b with serrations or projections and also an aperture for exhibiting the label on the bottle if so desired.
