About this work

Description

Cooper McDougall & Robertson Ltd, and their Cooper predecessors, were for a considerable time holders of the Royal Warrant from successive British monarchs, which they used in advertising and stationery as well as for general promotional purposes. As holders of the Royal Warrant, Coopers were members of the Royal Warrant Holders Association, and almost all of the correspondence in these folders relates to membership of the Association and to its various events and appeals.

6 folders, arranged chronologically, as follows:
Folder 1: 1924-1932;
Folder 2: 1933-1939;
Folder 3: "The King's House" (presented to Edward VIII by the Royal Warrant Holders Association, and commemorating the Silver Jubilee of George V) - illustrated booklet, volume recording contributors, and 2 newspaper cuttings (1936) ;
Folder 4: 1940-1945;
Folder 5: 1946-1950 (includes Cooper's Fluid Sheep Dip label "By Appointment to H M The King as Suppliers of Sheep & Cattle Dips and Veterinary Preparations");
Folder 6: 1951-1955.

The contents of these folders were originally held together in one box file.
