Description

Foy and Kondi's first paper on sickle cell anaemia was published in 1951. Their work was concerned with the rates of sickle cell anaemia and sickle cell trait amongst different tribes and its relation to malaria, and involved surveying 44 tribes in Kenya, 26 in the Southern Sudan and 500 samples from the 5 main racial groups of India. Their files include extensive notes on the history of the tribes and populations as well as tables of haemoglobin data they collected
