Biographical note

Emergency Medical Services blood transfusion centre was sited in premises loaned by the Forestry Research Institute in Storey's Way - because of limited support staff assistance was given by the Red Cross Association and St John's Ambulance Association. In Mar 1946 the Centre was resited in purpose-built premises at Brooklands Avenue - the transport section later moved to Cherryhinton Road and then to Fulbourn Hospital. In 1966 the Centre moved again to Long Road
