The volume is described as 'Minute Book No. 1'

This volume contains minutes of the meetings of the board of directors of the company, and there do not appear to be any associated papers in the volume. The meetings were conducted in Spanish, and the volume contains the translations of the minutes prepared in English, probably for the purposes of transmission to the parent company in the UK. Meetings generally took place monthly with a few exceptions - but the meetings were sometimes more frequent, with gaps of only one or two weeks between them.

Matters discussed include the appointment of directors and staff, market conditions and the performance of the company, specific products - and their success or failure, as well as general administrative points. There is no information of an especially sensitive nature, although some mention is made of staff salary levels and remuneration received by directors. The establishment, or re-establishment, of the firm is the major discussion point at the start of the period.

The purchase of a plot of land for a factory is agreed at a meeting on 9 Feb 1965, p. 6.

The 26th board meeting (24 Mar 1966, p. 51) was attended by A A Gray.

The problem of having a Spanish speaking salesman is referred to on pp. 75-76.
