Photograph of a woodcut illustration from Glauber, Johann Rudolf, A description of new philosophical furnaces, or A new art of distilling, London: Printed by Richard Coats, for Tho: Williams, at the signe of the Bible in Little-Britain, 1651. The illustration depicts two wooden vapour baths with text in Latin underneath. Another photograph of this image was accessioned by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum on 29th August 1935 (PHO 4236).
