What is the true Meaning of the Name Son of God, given to Christ in the New Testament, and especially where the Belief of it is made necessary to Salvation? Quest. II. Did the Disciples of Christ certainly believe that Jesus was the True and Eternal God during his Life-Time, or not 'till after his Death and Resurrection? Quest. III. Could the Son of God properly enter into a Covenant with God his Father before the Creation, to do and suffer what was necessary to our Redemption without having any human Soul which might consent to suffer? With several other Enquiries of equal Moment. To which is added, a charitable essay On the true Importance of any Human Schemes to explain the Sacred Doctrine of the Trinity.

Together with Some Reflections in respect of those who deny the Doctrine of the Holy Trinity, and meritorious Performances of Christ for the Satisfaction and Salvation of Mankind; also with respect to those who believe the Doctrine of the Holy Trinity, &c. The glory of Christ vindicated; in the excellency of his person, righteousness, love, and power: being an explication of the mystery which was kept secret since the world began. Wherein the Doctrine of the Holy Trinity is manifest in the Glory-Man, the Lord Jesus, and that bearing the Filth of Sin, in his Sufferings, was Part of the Atonement he made to God for the Elect. It is likewise demonstrated, That an Interest in Christ is founded alone upon the free, absolute Love of the Father, Son, and Spirity: Proving That their free Grace-Union, according to God's Ancient Settlements of their Supreme Relation to Christ, was never destroyed by their Natural Relation and Fall in Adam. To which is added, The Spiritual Operations of the Holy Ghost, as the immediate Spring, Life, and Source of all Practical Religion. The whole containing, a concise, and comprehensive answer, to a book entitled, The saint's treasury; Or, Christ the most Excellent. Wrote originally by Joseph Hussey, Minister of the Gospel of Christ, at Cambridge, and now faithfully abridged.

The glory of Christ unveil'd, or the excellency of Christ vindicated in his person, love, righteousness, &c. being an explication of the mystery which was kept secret since the world began: Wherein the Doctrine of the Holy Trinity is manifested in the Glory-Man, Jesus: And that Christ's bearing the Filth of our Sin in his own Sufferings, was a Part of the Atonement he made to God for the Elect; set forth against the Socinian and Neonomian Triumphs, and agaisnt some other Cowardly Profession. It is likewise demonstrated that an Interest in Christ is built alone upon the Free, Absolute and Everlasting Love of the Father, Son and Spirit, towards a Remnant in Christ Jesus, against the Arminiant. And therein is some Account given of the Mystery of the Elect and their Union in Christ Jesus before the Foundation of the World; proving that their Free Grace-Union according to God's Ancient Settlements was never, as to the Comprehensive and Supreme Relation of the Elect in Jesus Christ, destroy'd by their Subordinate Nature-Fall in Adam. To these Things are added a Vindication of the Excellency of God's Free Grace against the whole Arminian Scheme. And Lastly, The Spiritual Operations of the Holy Ghost are vindicated, as the immediate Spring, Life and Source of all Practical Religion. Occasion'd by divers notorious errours in the writings of Mr. John Hunt of Northampton, and many other writers, preachers and professours of the Gospel on most sides: Who instead of increasing on the Foundation at this Day, have shamefully cast off the First Faith. And that now when the Water of Euphrates, or the Power of the Turk since the Peace of Carlowitz, hath been eminently dryed up, so as not to overflow the Western Monarchy as heretofore. And now likewise, altho' for the Elect's sake, God has shortened the Days, upon the Rising of the Two Witnesses in England, who rose and stood upon their Feet in this Street of the great City, Anno 1687, where they had been Stain in their open Testimony of experimental Religion, just Three Years and a half preceding. Yea, to make way for the coming of the Glorious Kingdom of Christ, we have seen the Seventh Angel in the Ministry of Christ, (presently for Dispatch since this last Liberty) pouring forth his Vial into the Air, which hath said with a great voice out of the Temple of Heaven from the Throne of the Glory-Man, it is Done: All is done in Christ Jesus before Believing. And on this has been further utter'd, The Kingdoms of this World are become the Kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ, and He shall Reign for ever and ever. Nevertheless Deserters of the Faith, even so far as was believ'd the Last Age, by their Unbelieving Voices from the Pulpit, and angry Thunders awing the People, have drown'd the Report of the 7th Angel. Time now for more Lightnings to come forth after them, towards the Advance of a Spiritual Reformation breath'd after. By Joseph Hussey, a Poor Despised Servant of Jesus Christ, and Pastour of the Congregational Church of Christ at Cambridge.

A system of religion, treating of the following heads. I. Of the nature of God, and that Jesus Christ is the Only One and True God. II. Of the Trinity, in a Manner wholly differing from either the Athbanasians or Arians, nearer to the plain literal Text of the Scripture, and less liable to philosophical Objections. III. Of the Devil; that he is no where to be found, but incarnate in Man. IV. Of the Soul's dying with the Body till the Resurrection, shewing that the Notion of an immaterial Soul distinct from the Body, is an inconceivable philosophical Absurdity, and against the whole Tenor of the Scripture. V. That there are in Man two Principles natural to his Constitution, a good and a bad, which Necessarily determine his Actions, and are at Enmity with each other; and how to know which is predominant. VI. Of Predestination. Vii. A philosophical manner of accounting for the Resurrection. Faithfully collected from a curious manuscript, found among the papers of Tho. Tomkinson, gent.

King Jesus on his Royal Throne in Zion. Or, Separate Congregational Protestant Christian Churches proved to be the old, Apostolical, and Primitive Christian Churches, come fully out of the papal and antichristian apostacy, and gone back to the rules of the word in their first institution. Wherein is shewed, that they run uniform, and parallel with the first Christian Churches, and have their doctrine, precepts and practice for their patten, and warrant. Herein is also, a full declaration of the way of the Royal and Evangelical Churches of the Son of God, and King of Kings, in all particulars, measur'd by the Royal standard, charter, and rule of the word, and found to be according to the pattern of primitive Christianity, that Christ, and His Apostles gave in the Gospel mount or revelation. The atheist converted: or, the flesh reconciled to the spirit. A conflict between the spirit of truth and the spirit of error. Being carried on in the method of a disputing dialogue, or controversy, between an atheist, or the flesh, and a Christian believer, or the spirit. The Sacred Tragedy, In the several Acts and Scenes of Human Life: Wherein are proved those Great and Divine Truths, viz. the Being of a God, the Immortality of the Soul of Man, and Future Rewards and Punishments; and that Jesus Christ is the Only Son of God, and Saviour of Mankind: All manifestly proved by the Holy Word of God, by the Glorious Works of God, and by the Holy Spirit of God that faithful Witness within us, and by Human Reason. In 5 Books, and 31 Acts: In which all these Great and Divine Truths, and other Points pertaining to them, are argued and defended against the too common rash Objections and Practices of too many Wicked Men, with their vain Pomps and Vanities of this World, the corrupt Inclinations of the Flesh, and the evil Suggestions of the Devil. The harmony of the three commissions; or, None but Christ: Wherein is infallibly declared that all prophets in the time of the law, or under the first commission, and all apostles and ministers in the time of the Gospel, do each of them unanimously agree in their doctrine concerning God. And that according to the doctrine of the third commission, which doctrine was in the two first commissions, and is more fuller in this, being the commissions of the spirit; namely, that there is none but Christ, none but Christ; no other God but our Lord Jesus Christ, now in heaven glorified. The first record evidenced. Unto us a child is born: unto us a son is given: he shall he called the mighty God and the everlasting father, Isa. ix. 6. The second record evidenced. Great is the mystery of godliness; God manifested to flesh. There are three that bear record in heaven, &c. 1 John v. The third record evidenced. In the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when be shall begin to sound, the mystery of God shall be finished. By Thomas Tomkinson.

By command of the King of Kings, (a) and at the desire of all who love his appearing, (b) at the Theatre of the universe, (c) on the eve of time, (d) will be performed, The great assize, or day of judgment. (e) The Scenery, which is now actually preparing, will not only surpass every Thing that has yet been seen, but will infinitely exceed the utmost Stretch of human Conception (f). There will be a just Representation of all the Inhabitants of the World, in their various and proper Colours; and their Customs and Manners will be so exactly and so minutely delineated, that the most secret Thought will be discovered (g). For God shall bring every Work into Judgment, with every secret Thing, whether it be Good, or whether it be evil. Eccles. xii. This Theatre will be laid out after a new Plan, and will consist of Pit and Gallery only; and, contrary to all others, the Gallery is fitted up for the Reception of the People of high (or heavenly) Birth (h), and the Pit for those of low (or earthly) Rank (i). - N. B. The Gallery is very spacious (k), and the Pit without Bottom (l). To prevent Inconvenience, there are separate Doors for admitting the Company; and they are so different, that none can mistake that are not wilfully blind. The Door which opens into the Gallery is very narrow, and the Steps up to it are somewhat difficult; for which Reason there are seldom many People about it (m). But the Door that gives Entrance into the Pit is very wide, and very commodious; which causes such Numbers to flock to it, that it is generally crowded (n). - N. B. The strait Door leads towards the Right-Hand, and the broad one to the Left (o). It will be in vain for one in a tinsel'd Coat and borrowed Language to personate one of high Birth, in order to get Admittance into the upper Places (p); for there is One of wonderful and deep Penetration, who will search and examine every individual (q); and all who cannot pronounce Shibboleth (r) in the Language of Canaan (s), or has not received a white Stone and new Name (l), or cannot prove a clear Title to a certain Portion of the Land of Promise (u), must be turned in at the left Door (w). The Principal Performers Are described in 1 Thess. iv. 16. - 2 Thess. i. 7, 8, 9. - Matt. xxiv. 30, 31. - xxv. 31, 32. - Daniel vii, 9, 10. - Jude 14. 15. - Rev. xx. 12 to 15, &c. But as there are some People much better acquainted with the Contents of a Play-Bill than the Word of God, it may not be amiss to transcribe a Verse or two for their Perusal. ̀̀the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from Heaven with his mighty Angels, in flaming Fire, taking Vengeance on them that obey not the Gospel,'' but ̀̀to be glorified in his Saints. A fiery Stream issued and came forth from before him: A thousand thousands ministred unto him, and ten thousand Times ten thousand stood before him: The Judgment was set, and the Books were opened; and whosoever was not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the Lake of Fire.'' Act First of this Grand and Solemn Piece Will be opened by an Arch-Angel, with the Trump of God (x). For the Trumpet shall sound, and the Dead shall be raised. 1 Cor. xv. 52. Act Second Will be a Procession of Saints in White (y), with Golden Harps, accompanied with Shouts of Joy, and Songs of Praise (z). Act Third Will be an Assemblage of all the Unregenerate (a). The Music will consist chiefly of Cries (b), accompanied with Weeping, Wailing, Mourning, Lamentation, and Woe (c). To conclude with an Oration by the Son of God. It is written in the 25th of Matthew, from the 34th Verse to the End of the Chapter; but for the Sake of those who seldom read the Scriptures, I shall here transcribe two Verses: ̀̀then shall the King say to them on his Right-Hand, Come ye blessed of my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the Foundation of the World: Then shall he say also unto them on the Left-Hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting Fire, prepared for the Devil and his Angels.'' After which the Curtain will drop, Then, O to tell! John v. 28, 29. - - Some raised on high, and others dom'd to Hell! Rev. v. 8, 9. - xiv. 3, 4. - - These praise the Lamb, and sing redeeming Love, Luke xvi. 22, 23. - - Lodg'd in his Bosom, all his Goodness prove:-xix. 14, 27. - - While those who trumpled under-foot his Grace Matt. xxv. 30. - 2 Thess. i. 9. - Are banish'd now for ever from his Face; Luke xvi. 26. - - Divided thus, a Gulph is fix'd between, Matt. xxv. 46. - - And (everlasting) closes up the Scene. Thus will I do unto thee, O Israel; and because I will do this unto thee, prepare to meet thy God, O Israel. Amos iv. 12. Tickets for the Pit, at the easy Purchase of following the vain Pomps and Vanities of the fashionable World, and the Desires and Amusements of the Flesh (d): To be had at every Flesh-Pleasing Assembly. If ye live after the Flesh ye shall die. Rom. viii. 13. Tickets for the Gallery at no less Rate than being converted (e), Forsaking all (f). Denying Self, taking up the Cross (g) and following Christ in the Regeneration (h): To be had no where but in the Word of God, and where that Word appoints. He that hath Ears to hear let him hear. And be not deceived: God is not mocked. For whatsoever a Man soweth, that shall he also reap. - Matt. xi. 15. - Gal. vi. 7. N. B. No Money will be taken at the Door (i), nor will any Tickets give Admittance into the Gallery, but those sealed by the Holy Ghost (k), with Immanuel's Signet (l). Watch therefore; be ye also ready; for in such an Hour as ye think not, the Son of Man cometh. Matt. xxiv. 42, 44.
